We Continue the Change and Democratic Bulgaria will work together in the new National Assembly, despite disagreements regarding the structure of the parliamentary group. After a meeting between the leaderships of the two formations, it became clear that they will function as a common parliamentary union under the slogan “Strong Bulgaria in a Strong Europe”, but with two separate parliamentary groups – of PP and of DB.
The proposal is from PP, as chairman Asen Vasilev explained that this is dictated by the desire to allow each formation to preserve its identity. Vasilev emphasized that PP and DB will appear together in the upcoming partial local elections in Sofia.
DB expressed disagreement with the division, with the chairman of DSB Atanas Atanasov calling it a political mistake. Nevertheless, the two formations will continue to work together for the modernization of the country and its European path, as co-chairman of Yes, Bulgaria Bozhidar Bozhanov emphasized.
Before the meeting, DB insisted on preserving the joint parliamentary group. The National Council of Yes, Bulgaria tasked the party with proposing a coalition agreement, which was still missing.
