Fires in Bulgaria: 46 Fires in 24 Hours, One Fatality

Firefighters in Bulgaria extinguished 46 fires in the past 24 hours, one of which resulted in a fatality. The fire in Pazardzhik claimed the life of a 79-year-old woman.

Over the past 24 hours, fire teams in the country extinguished 46 fires and responded to 63 calls for incidents, reports the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" on its website. One person died and one was injured in the fires.

On April 18 at 02:33 hours, a signal for a fire in an apartment in a garage was received at the Operational Center at the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" in Pazardzhik. The incident was extinguished with fire teams and three specialized vehicles. A 79-year-old woman with mobility difficulties died in the fire.

There were 12 fires with direct material damage, six of which were in residential buildings.

34 fires occurred without material damage. 

13 rescue operations and support operations were carried out.

There were four false calls.
