A wooden shed and firewood for the winter of an 88-year-old man burned in a fire caused by a forgotten stove, police said.
Tension hung in the air tonight in the "Acacia" neighborhood in Burgas. The late hours of October 26 were disrupted by the alarming signal that reached the First Police Station. Around 11:20 p.m., a report was received of a fire that broke out on "Vrania" Street, number 7. The fire had engulfed property owned by an 88-year-old resident of Burgas.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene found that the flames had engulfed a wooden shed attached to the back of the house. Wooden material, prepared for the winter season, was stored in the shed. Two fire teams, fighting the elements, managed to contain the fire.
According to information provided by the owner, around 5:00 p.m. on the same day, he had used an electric stove in the shed. Unfortunately, he forgot to turn it off, which caused the fire to break out. Now, left without shelter for the firewood, the elderly man is facing a harsh winter.
