The Municipal Council in Pomorie held its 44th (extraordinary) meeting. During the session, four reports submitted by the mayor of the municipality, Ivan Aleksiev, were reviewed and adopted. All items on the agenda were approved by a majority.
The first item on the agenda was the adoption of a one-time indexation of 5 percent of the individual basic monthly salaries in the municipal administration and its structures. The decision comes into force retroactively from January 1, 2026, and is in line with the officially reported annual inflation from the National Statistical Institute. The update covers the remuneration of the mayor, deputy mayors, administrative staff, and municipal enterprises, with the exception of those on the minimum wage and the units of delegated budgets.
The municipal councilors also determined the period of prohibition for carrying out construction and installation works in the city of Pomorie and the city of Aheloy. The restriction will be in force from June 15 to September 15, 2026, inclusive. However, a list of objects of public importance was excluded from the ban. Among them are projects for the modernization of the educational environment in the school in Aheloy, the construction of a Youth Center in Pomorie, energy renovation of residential buildings and community centers, as well as repairs to the infrastructure of the fishing port and Kniaz Boris I Street.
The agenda also included the voting of an annual grazing plan for 2027. The decision provides for the leasing of meadows, pastures, and meadows from the municipal land fund for a period of five years to registered livestock breeders. The document outlines clear rules for use, which include compulsory cleaning of areas from bushes and a ban on plowing or burning stubble. The aim of the measure is to ensure the support of agricultural producers under the European direct payment schemes.
The last item on the meeting was related to the update of the preliminary estimates for the expenses of the Municipality of Pomorie for the first quarter of 2026. Due to the postponed adoption of the state budget, funds were voted for the preparation of reports on the compliance of projects for the repair of streets and a technical project for the exhibition of finds in the ancient city of Anhialo Paleokastro. The councilors also approved financial aid for the Local Initiative Group (LIG) Pomorie, as well as for the Local Fishing Initiative Group.
