Two separate police operations, conducted within a 24-hour period, uncovered large-scale drug distribution cases in Burgas and nearby Nesebar. Law enforcement officers seized significant quantities of narcotic substances and arrested two men suspected of criminal activity. The operations are part of the intensified measures by the Ministry of Interior to counter drug trafficking in the region.
Operation in Burgas: Drugs and distribution accessories seized
The actions in Burgas were carried out by officers of the First District Department, who conducted a search of a private residence on the city's emblematic street "Slavyanska". The apartment was occupied by a 33-year-old local resident. During the search, which was conducted under the watchful eye of investigators, numerous pieces of evidence pointing to criminal activity were found.
Not only were 300 grams of dry green plant matter, identified as cannabis, seized, but also an electronic scale used for precise dosing of the drugs. In order to prepare the narcotic for sale, numerous empty nylon packets were also discovered. Additionally, 24 syringes with a black-colored liquid and other unspecified items of interest to the investigation were found in the residence.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated in this case, which will reveal the full extent of the criminal activity.
Operation in Nesebar: Marijuana and amphetamine discovered
The second case unfolded on the Black Sea coast, where police officers from the Nesebar District Department undertook a sudden inspection of a private apartment located in the complex "Balkan Briz - 1". The operation was conducted on August 25 at around 10:20 PM. The residence was occupied by a 51-year-old Bulgarian citizen. During the search, the police seized impressive quantities of narcotic substances.
- Approximately 400 grams of marijuana, in the form of dry green plant matter.
- Approximately 10 grams of amphetamine, in the form of a white powder.
Immediately after the discovery of the drugs, the man was detained for up to 24 hours. In light of the collected evidence, a fast-track proceeding has been initiated to expedite the investigation and bring the suspect to justice.
The two operations demonstrate the determination of law enforcement agencies to combat the spread of drugs, which is often linked to other crimes and affects the most vulnerable layers of society. The investigations into both cases are ongoing, and other participants in the criminal schemes are expected to be uncovered.
