Specialized police operation in Sunny Beach
Six people from various cities in the country were detained during a large-scale specialized police operation conducted in the Sunny Beach resort complex. The operation took place on the night of July 5, carried out by officers from the Nessebar District Police Department between 11:00 PM on July 4 and 5:00 AM on July 5.
Police teams seized narcotic substances and nitrous oxide being offered illegally at a 24-hour establishment.
Findings and detainees
During the inspections, the police discovered and seized:
- Marijuana and methamphetamine crystals;
- 15 canisters of nitrous oxide intended for sale at a 24-hour grocery store.
Three case files and three fast-track proceedings have been initiated regarding these incidents.
Driver under the influence of drugs
During the same operation, a 22-year-old man from Sofia was also detained. He was stopped for a check while driving a "Mercedes S 500" passenger car. The conducted drug test returned a positive result for cocaine. The young driver was detained in custody for up to 24 hours, and a fast-track police proceeding has been initiated in the case.
