A bas-relief of Father Petar Tsankov will be unveiled in Sveti Vlas
On Monday, exactly at 12:00 PM, a bronze bas-relief in memory of Father Petar Tsankov will be unveiled near the Saint Vlas Church in the town of Sveti Vlas. The organizers of the initiative invite everyone who has been touched by his work to attend the event.
"Father Petar gained national fame for the 40 stone chapels he built along the mountain ridge above Sveti Vlas, for which he was awarded the title of 'Worthy Bulgarian' in 2016."
The path of faith and labor
The memorial plaque was realized by the "Bulgarian Memory – Dinevi Brothers" foundation, which for years supported the priest in creating the "Path of Faith." The project began in 2012 and continued until Father Petar's passing in 2025.
- Unique architecture: The chapels were built using the dry-stone masonry technique, which Father Petar learned during his service in the construction troops.
- Symbolism: The original plan was for 33 chapels (representing the years of Christ), but they eventually reached 40.
- Legacy: Today, the path is visited daily by hundreds of tourists seeking peace and spirituality.
Before dedicating himself to Sveti Vlas, Father Petar served in Enina and Kazanlak, but it was in the seaside town that he left the most lasting mark on people's hearts, sharing his faith through his tireless physical labor and wise conversations.
