Musician, songwriter, and producer Boyan Hristov has passed away, BG Radio reported. He was waging a long battle with a serious oncological disease, and in recent months, his relatives, colleagues, and fans organized campaigns to support his treatment.
The sad news was confirmed on the page "Let's help Boyan in his battle for life," created in support of the musician. "With sadness in our hearts, we must inform you that our dear, kind, and pure-hearted Bobby has flown from this world after a great, even lion-hearted, struggle for life, which he fought bravely and uncompromisingly until his last breath," the post stated.
Boyan Hristov was a music producer, lyricist, singer, arranger, and vocal coach. Throughout his creative work, he collaborated with a number of established names from the Bulgarian pop scene, including Maria Ilieva, Lubo Kirov, Poli Genova, Hilda Kazasyan, Mihaela Fileva, and Mariana Popova.
He was born in Plovdiv into a family of musicians. His mother is a classical musician, and his father played in a band. By education, Hristov was an actor, but he defined music himself as his true calling.
From an early age, he showed interest not only in performance, but in the entire path of creating a song – from the idea and the music, through the arrangement, to the overall concept for the artist's presentation.
Hristov was a vocalist in the first Bulgarian boy band "032," formed in 2005. Later, he developed production and songwriting work with popular artists. Among the songs associated with his name is "Neka vali" by Maria Ilieva.
Many artists and friends joined in his fight against the illness. Actor Daniel Peev – Dundy, his fellow student, donated his prize from the show "Your Face Sounds Familiar" (Kato dve kapki voda) for Hristov's treatment. "This is my second victory in an episode of the show and, just like the first time, I will donate my prize to Boyan Hristov, my fellow student who is being treated for cancer," Dundy stated at the time.
The Bulgarian music scene loses an artist with a recognizable creative signature and a person who dedicated his professional path to the creation and development of musical projects.
