Severe accident involving a motorcyclist in Aheloy
Another case of irresponsible driving has resulted in injuries to a young man. The accident occurred yesterday around 14:35 in the area of the intersection of "Slanchev Bryag" and "Tsar Simeon" streets in the town of Aheloy.
A 43-year-old driver from the town of Balgarovo caused the accident after failing to yield to an oncoming motorcycle while making a left turn.
Condition of the victim
The motorcycle, ridden by a 23-year-old man from Sveti Vlas, collided with the car. As a result of the strong impact, the young motorcyclist sustained fractures to his left lower leg and thigh. He was transported urgently to UMBAL – Burgas, where he has been admitted for treatment.
Test results
During an on-site inspection, police officers determined that the driver of the car was behind the wheel in an impaired state:
- Alcohol: The breathalyzer showed 0.31 per mille.
- Drugs: The test returned a positive result for the use of cannabis and methamphetamine.
Samples for chemical analysis were taken from the perpetrator. A blood sample was also taken from the injured motorcyclist at the medical facility to clarify the circumstances surrounding the traffic accident.
