On Saturday, a signal was received at the Police Station in Trud about a participant injured in a domestic scandal in the village of Voyvodinovo. The arriving police officers found that during an argument, a 74-year-old man threatened to kill his neighbor and shot him in the leg with an illegally possessed revolver. According to initial information, the conflict arose due to the pensioner's irritation at the noise on the neighboring property during the unloading of firewood.
During the procedural and investigative actions in his home, the elderly man made threats of physical retaliation against the police officers. During the search of his dwelling, various weapons, ammunition and explosives, acquired and stored without the necessary permits, were seized.
By a decree of the District Prosecutor's Office - Plovdiv, the 74-year-old man has been charged with three offenses - for a crime under Art. 129, para. 2, in conjunction with para. 1; under Art. 144, para. 3, item 1, in conjunction with para. 1 and under Art. 339, para. 1 of the Criminal Code. The defendant has been detained for a period of up to 72 hours, and today the prosecution has filed a request with the court for the measure of detention to be taken against him.
