Road Traffic Accidents: Alarming Statistics with Injuries

The Ministry of Interior reported 27 injured in 19 serious accidents in the last 24 hours. There were also incidents in Sofia. A total of 18 fatalities and 187 injuries since the beginning of the month. The data shows an increase in fatalities.

Over the past 24 hours, the country has recorded an alarming statistic of road traffic accidents, with the Ministry of Interior reporting 27 injured people. The information was published on the official website of the ministry, where a detailed analysis of the incidents was presented.

In the last 24 hours, 19 serious accidents with casualties have been registered, which underlines the seriousness of the situation.

The capital city was also not unaffected. In Sofia, 21 minor and three serious accidents were recorded. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but three people were injured.

A broader look at the statistics for the current month shows even more alarming trends. Since the beginning of the month, 152 accidents have been registered, leading to 18 deaths and 187 injuries.

An even more disturbing picture emerges from the beginning of the year. Since January, a total of 5785 road traffic accidents have been registered. These incidents have claimed the lives of 389 people, and 7201 have been injured.

When comparing the current data for fatalities in 2025 with the same period of the previous year, we note an increase. In 2024, at this point, 385 deaths were recorded. This means that in the current year, there are four more fatalities among road users.
