Twenty-five people were injured in 17 serious accidents in the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Interior. The tragic balance for yet another day reminds of the need for increased vigilance on the road and strict adherence to traffic rules.

In the capital Sofia, the picture is no different. Two serious and 33 minor road accidents have been registered, which have led to the injury of two people. Ambulance sirens echo in the urban landscape, reminding of the risk that every kilometer traveled carries.

Since the beginning of the current month, the number of accidents registered in the country has reached 220. For the same period, roads have claimed 13 human lives, and 283 people have been injured. These figures paint a bleak picture of traffic that is far from safe.

The statistics from the beginning of the year show an even more alarming situation. A total of 5354 road accidents have been registered. In these incidents, 339 people have lost their lives, and 6694 have been injured. The data underlines the need for urgent measures to improve road safety.

And yet, there is a small light at the end of the tunnel. Compared to the data for the deceased during the same period last year, there are 18 fewer road fatalities this year, according to information from the Ministry of Interior. This shows that even with these tragic numbers, there is a certain trend towards a decrease in deaths. It is necessary, however, to analyze the reasons for these improvements and to take additional measures to consolidate this trend.
