Dismal Statistics from the Ministry of Interior

The latest bulletin from the Ministry of Interior reveals dismal statistics on road safety in the country. In the last 24 hours alone, a total of 21 serious road accidents were registered nationwide, injuring 32 people. Fortunately, there were no fatalities during this specific period, which is the only positive aspect of an otherwise alarming situation.

Information published on the official website of the Ministry of Interior shows that tension on the roads remains high. The capital city of Sofia is no exception to this trend. The city was the scene of 28 minor accidents, with the addition of two serious ones that injured two people. The scene on major metropolitan boulevards and smaller streets is often marked by the sound of sirens and clusters of people watching the consequences of yet another incident with concern.

The alarming statistics become even more serious when looking at the data from the beginning of the month. During this short period, a shocking 597 road incidents were registered. As a result, 37 people lost their lives and 787 were injured. These figures show that every day dozens of people fall victim to road violence, which has become a chronic problem for Bulgaria.

Since the beginning of the year, the situation has been even more severe. The total number of accidents has reached 4383. The sad toll indicates that 273 human lives have been taken forever, and the number of injured is 5514. This data is a reminder of the seriousness of the situation, which requires urgent and decisive measures from both institutions and every road user.
