Selection of a new member of the anti-corruption commission
The National Assembly is initiating the procedure for selecting a member of the Anti-Corruption Commission. Members of Parliament will discuss a draft resolution on the terms and procedures for nominating and hearing candidates.
According to the new anti-corruption law, which entered into force on June 5, 2026, the Supreme Bar Council, the supreme courts, the Parliament, and the President will nominate their representatives to the commission.
Financial and legislative changes
- Budget amendments: The second "extension law" provides for the possibility of new national debt of up to 3.8 billion euros (3% of the projected GDP).
- Criminal proceedings: Voting on the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) at the second reading continues.
The parliamentary committee has a one-month period to conduct the hearings and prepare for the selection of the new member of the anti-corruption body.
