Parliament dismissed the management of the NHIF
Members of Parliament terminated the term of the Governor of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Dr. Petko Stefanovski, ahead of schedule with 193 votes "in favor," 3 "against," and 2 "abstentions."
With the same move, Parliament also terminated the term of the Deputy Governor of the Health Insurance Fund, Prof. Momchil Mavrov, ahead of schedule, with the decision being made unanimously with 202 votes "in favor."
The Governor of the NHIF, Dr. Petko Stefanovski, submitted his resignation on June 10 of this year. Later that same day, Deputy Governor Prof. Momchil Mavrov also submitted his resignation.
The term of the previous NHIF management was terminated without debate. Prior to that, after more than an hour of discussion, Parliament elected Asen Medzhidiev as the new Deputy Governor of the Health Insurance Fund.
