The Parliamentary Committee on Innovation rejected changes to the 112 Act

Members of the standing parliamentary Committee on Innovation and Digital Transformation did not adopt at the first reading the Draft Law on Amendment and Supplementation of the Law on the National Emergency Call System Using the Single European Number 112.

The deputies voted with 4 votes "in favor", 8 abstained, and there were no votes "against".

The sponsor of the texts is Member of Parliament Bozhidar Bozhanov from "Democratic Bulgaria". The main goal of the initiative was to ensure faster access to the emergency number for people with hearing or speech impairments, as well as for those who cannot conduct a voice call.

Why was the project not supported?

The committee also postponed the discussion on the rules for the Public Council to the committee until the autumn, due to disagreements regarding its structure.
