The state of emergency in the Elenite holiday village has been lifted, it was announced today. The decision, which terminates the special regime, was made by the mayor of Nesebar Municipality, Mr. Nikolay Dimitrov, and was published on the official website of the municipal administration.

The situation in the resort village, which is located on the Black Sea coast, experienced dramatic moments. The order to lift the state of emergency comes after weeks of intensive work to restore the affected areas.

According to the mayor's order, there is currently no data on danger to the life and health of the population. This is a key moment, which also determines the termination of the special regime, introduced after a complicated meteorological situation.

The state of emergency in the area was introduced on October 3rd, after torrential rains caused significant destruction. BTA recalls the tragic consequences of the bad weather - the loss of four human lives. Three men and one woman became victims of the elements in the Elenite resort itself. Heavy rainfall caused serious problems with the infrastructure, destroying buildings, shops, and causing disruptions to water supply and electricity. Cars were swept into the sea by the powerful current.

In the initial stage, the state of emergency covered the entire territory of Nesebar Municipality. Later, on October 10th, it was extended for another seven days, but only for the area of the Elenite holiday village. This step demonstrates a focused approach to overcoming the specific problems in the most affected areas.

Yesterday, the regional governor of Burgas activated the early warning system BG-Alert for the municipalities along the Southern Black Sea coast, including Sveti Vlas and the Elenite holiday village. This step testifies to increased attention to the meteorological situation and readiness to react in case of need.
