A new, modern STEM center was inaugurated with a ceremony at “Bratya Miladinovi” Primary School, which will provide an innovative educational environment for primary and lower secondary students. Official guests at the event were the Deputy Mayor for Education, Healthcare and Social Activities, Mikhail Nenov, and the Director of the Municipal Directorate “Education and Youth Policies,” Katya Misheva.

In their speeches, the guests emphasized the importance of investments in modern education and the creation of conditions for the development of key skills in students, necessary for the challenges of the future.

The new STEM center is built on the first floor of the school building and includes three specialized rooms: a “Arts, Design and 3D Prototyping” room, a multimedia studio, and a mathematics and computer science laboratory.

The spaces are designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, and practical learning. The activity of the center covers a wide range of subjects – mathematics and information technology, computer modeling, Bulgarian language and literature, foreign languages, fine arts, technology and entrepreneurship, music, as well as the subjects of the primary stage. Through the integrated approach, students will have the opportunity to discover the links between different disciplines and real life, to work on projects, to draw conclusions, and to develop critical thinking and teamwork skills.

The concept of the center is based on practical STEM training, as teachers will jointly plan lessons at the beginning of the school year to ensure interdisciplinary connectivity and compliance with curricula.

In technological terms, the school has eight high-tech and connected classrooms (VOCS), equipped with interactive displays, wide-angle conference cameras, and highly sensitive microphones.

The additional rooms in the STEM center are equipped with laptops, interactive displays, a 3D printer with consumables, a laser engraving module, a laminator, virtual reality glasses, photo studio equipment, a camera, a camera, color printers, as well as specialized LEGO constructors for physics, chemistry and biology for the different age groups.

The event was also attended by the school principal, Diana Kovacheva, the director of PGMEE, Roza Zheleva, teachers, students and parents.

With the opening of the STEM center, “Bratya Miladinovi” Primary School is taking an important step towards modernizing the educational process and creating an environment in which students learn through experience, discovery and creativity.
