Corruption scandal at the NRA: Two inspectors face court
The District Court in Burgas is reviewing the prosecution's request to impose the most severe remand measure, "detention in custody," on two employees of the National Revenue Agency (NRA). They are accused of accepting a bribe in complicity.
The lawyer for the accused, Petar Dimitrov, stated that his clients deny their guilt and claim the case is a "setup."
According to prosecutor Hristo Kolev, the two inspectors requested and received 300 euros in order not to perform official duties during an inspection of a mini-market in Chernomorets. The prosecution firmly asserts that the money was found on the accused.
