The spring tourist season on St. Anastasia Island near Burgas has opened. The municipal ship 'Burgus' set sail from the Sea Station with the first guests. Visitors were greeted at the pier, with a large part of them arriving from other cities.
The island offers improved access for people with mobility and visual impairments. The island has a museum, a church with restored frescoes from the 14th century, as well as a herbalist.
Attractions include descent to the underwater chapel with a statue of St. Anastasia and sunken cars. A strong tourist season with a cultural program is expected. Last year, 34,000 tourists visited the island, and Easter eggs will be distributed for Easter.
