The official position of the internal agency was categorically presented by Daniel Mitov through his personal Facebook profile, where he directly refuted the circulated rumors about a police intervention in the center of Sofia.
According to the minister's statement, the spread versions of a targeted check on a non-governmental organization are completely unfounded. He insisted that all public figures should show restraint when disseminating information that could compromise the work of state structures.
The conflict situation was initially presented by the leader of the civil association BOETS - Georgi Georgiev, who published video material with police intervention. According to his version, employees of the Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs (SDIA) tried to "attack" the organization's office while he was alone inside.
In parallel, Georgiev reported that the same evening his colleagues would file a signal with the anti-corruption commission against an active municipal councilor. Additionally, the association announced two official requests - the removal of Anton Slavchev and the complete closure of the respective parliamentary commission.
From the official data of the SDIA, it became clear that initially 25 foreigners of Arab origin were identified in a specific residential building. Among the detained persons, one was announced for nationwide search, which further complicates the context of what is happening.
Minister Mitov emphasized the exceptional importance of maintaining objectivity and preventing unsubstantiated speculations that could undermine public confidence in state institutions.
The case continues to cause serious public interest and will be the subject of additional investigations by the competent authorities.
