The road administration introduces strict measures for traffic on a strategically important mountain section, limiting the weight of passing vehicles. Heavy trucks over 12 tons will be redirected to an alternative route - Road I-1 between Mezdra and Botevgrad.

The decision is a result of a preliminary commitment to local residents in Montana region, which was announced during the initial launch of heavy traffic on June 16. The restoration of the modernized route creates an opportunity for safer movement through the mountain pass.

Road Infrastructure Agency urgently requests drivers to exercise extreme caution. It is recommended to strictly follow established speed limits, avoid risky overtaking, and maintain heightened attention to ensure the safety of all traffic participants.
