Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov ordered the introduction of a new traffic organization on a highway section characterized by high-intensity truck traffic. The specific measure covers the section between the 70th and 90th kilometers in both directions of the Trakia highway in Pazardzhik region.

Experts from the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) report that the main goal of the introduced changes is a significant improvement in road safety. In this regard, a total of 36 new road signs will be installed, prohibiting overtaking of heavy vehicles with a maximum permissible mass over 3.5 tons.

The pilot project aims to limit potentially dangerous maneuvers performed by truck drivers. By introducing strict regulations, a significant reduction in the risk of road traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles is expected.

The RIA management plans to carefully analyze the effectiveness of the taken restrictive measures. If proven effective, experts do not rule out the possibility of extending similar regulations to other sections with intensive truck traffic.

The introduced changes represent a targeted strategy to improve road safety, focusing on the most problematic sections of the national road infrastructure. Specialists emphasize that such targeted interventions can significantly contribute to reducing the risks of incidents.

The new traffic organization will be applied experimentally, allowing flexible adaptation of measures according to the actual situation on the highway. The ultimate goal remains ensuring the most calm and safe movement for all traffic participants.
