Traffic on the Trakia Motorway will be restricted in a 33-kilometer section from September 17 to 18 (Wednesday and Thursday), between 9:00 and 19:00.

The restriction will affect traffic in both directions, with passage only through the active lanes, with limited access to overtaking lanes.

The reason for this is the construction of a special "window" in the central median strip of the motorway, necessary to ensure safe passage from one lane to another, in connection with upcoming repairs to the asphalt pavement.

The repair works are carried out in the territory of Sofia region.

The Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) apologizes for any inconvenience caused to drivers, emphasizing that the repair works are essential to ensure traffic safety on the motorway.

The Agency also issued a special appeal to all drivers to drive with increased caution, strictly observe traffic rules and speed limits, and refrain from risky overtaking maneuvers that endanger not only themselves but also all other road users.

Traffic jams are inevitable, and the expected increased load on the active lanes requires increased vigilance. Drivers should be prepared for a longer journey and plan their route in advance.
