The movement of heavy goods vehicles over 12 tons will be restricted on the most heavily trafficked routes during the holidays around 22 September to prevent accidents and the formation of traffic jams. These temporary restrictions will apply to the Trakia, Hemus, and Struma motorways, as well as a section of road I-1 in the Blagoevgrad region.
In the Blagoevgrad region, reversible traffic will be introduced on road I-1 in the Simitli area to facilitate travel towards Bansko and other tourist complexes in the region. The traffic scheme is as follows:
- On 18 and 19 September: two lanes towards Kulata and one lane towards Sofia;
- On 22 September: two lanes towards Sofia and one lane towards Kulata.
Regarding the Hemus motorway, the ban on vehicles over 12 t applies to the section from Sofia (km 0) to the junction with the roundabout at road I-4 (km 87). On the Struma motorway and republic road I-1 (in the section from the Simitli junction (km 376) to the Struma motorway Kresna junction (km 402)), the restriction does not apply to vehicles over 12 t that are engaged in public passenger transport. The same exceptions apply to motor vehicles carrying dangerous goods (ADR), live animals, perishable food products, temperature-controlled goods, as well as specialized refrigerated trucks.
On the Trakia motorway, the restrictions do not apply to vehicles over 12 tons engaged in public passenger transport. However, in the direction of Sofia, an exception is applied for the transport of dangerous goods (ADR) on the section from the Ihtiman junction (km 34) to the Vakarel junction (km 23).

By selecting a specific road, traffic can be monitored both through individual points and across entire road sections.
These restrictions on major transport arteries will affect the logistics and travel of residents of Burgas and the region when traveling to the rest of the country.
The "Road Infrastructure" Agency appeals to all drivers to be cautious, to follow traffic rules and speed limits, and to avoid risky overtaking. It is also important that hard shoulders on motorways are not used to travel faster during heavy traffic, as this obstructs the passage of emergency vehicles in the event of an accident.
