An unprecedented volunteer mobilization is underway in the mountainous area of Trân, where hundreds of rescuers are involved in controlling a large-scale forest fire. Simona Mineva, one of the volunteers on the ground, reveals the dramatic picture of destruction and challenges facing the rescue operation.

According to official data, participants in the action are positioned along the outer zones of villages, with their main goal being the creation of protective corridors against fire spread. All local residents and domestic animals have been evacuated from endangered areas, which is among the rescue teams' priorities.

Logistical support is extremely important during the operation. Special teams continuously deliver water, food, and necessary supplies such as electrolytes and ayran for participants. Heavy machinery plays a crucial role in creating firebreaks and limiting flame spread.

Communication between volunteers and headquarters faces serious challenges due to damaged telecommunications facilities and interrupted power supply in large areas. At the moment, there is a lack of air support, which further complicates the rescue operation.

Another volunteer, Rumyana Boyanova, confirms the critical situation, emphasizing that kilometers of forest are already engulfed by fire. The unceasing wind further complicates efforts to extinguish the fire, which threatens to reach the town of Trân.

Among the most affected places are the villages of Rani lug and Nasalevtsi. In Nasalevtsi, there is a remarkable century-old oak tree, part of the "European Tree with Roots" ranking, which volunteers are intensively trying to save. The nearby church is also under protection of rescue teams.

The Deputy Mayor of Trân, Svetlana Valerieva, expressed gratitude to volunteers from across Southwest Bulgaria. The operation involves teams from the Pernik region Fire Department, Regional Police Directorate, Emergency Rescue Squad, Forestry Service, and Border Police.

A partial state of emergency has been declared, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. Rescue teams continue their round-the-clock battle with the fire element, with their main goal being to maximize damage limitation and prevent further fire spread.
