Nesebar Municipality officially launched activities for the installation of modern pellet heating appliances within the project “Nesebar is for cleaner air”. It is implemented with the financial support of the “Environment” Program 2021–2027 and aims to permanently improve the quality of atmospheric air in the region and limit emissions of fine particulate matter, as well as to assist households in transitioning to more economical, efficient, and easy-to-maintain heating.

The project activities consist of the free replacement of outdated and highly polluting wood and coal stoves with high-tech environmental alternatives. The new pellet systems – pellet air-heating fireplaces or pellet boilers with radiators, according to the preferences of the approved candidates, are being installed in 42 households in the municipality, approved in the first stage of the program. The phased installation begins after the dismantling of the old heating devices.

The program remains open for applications. Residents of the municipality who still use solid fuel heating can submit applications to be included in the next stages. The deadline for the implementation of the project activities is December 2028. Additional information on the conditions and necessary documents is available on the website nesebarbezemisii.com and at the project office in Nesebar, 57 “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” St.
