Nesebar Municipality is starting a joint project "Increasing readiness for the prevention and management of disasters, fires and emergencies in Burgas region" with the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" - Burgas, which is a specific beneficiary under a procedure for direct provision of non-reimbursable financial assistance BG05SFPR002-1.035 "Increasing readiness for the prevention and management of disasters, fires and emergencies", the "Human Resources Development" Program 2021-2027 with the financial support of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
The project is implemented in partnership with all municipalities in the Burgas region and aims to increase the resilience, readiness and capacity of institutions and volunteer formations for effective response to emergencies.
The total budget of the project is 459,652.79 euros. The project duration is from 10.03.2026 to 10.09.2027.
The project provides for the delivery of fire, rescue and specialized equipment, the purchase of protective equipment for the teams and volunteers, as well as the conduct of information campaigns to recruit volunteers to participate in emergency rescue operations in the event of crisis situations, in removing their consequences.
The expected results of the project implementation are: increasing the capacity of the municipal administration regarding the protection of the population in case of disasters on the territory of the municipality, carrying out preventive measures to prevent or reduce the risk of disasters, as well as improving public awareness regarding the dangers and risks of a disaster, forming behavior and action in different types of crisis situations.
