Nesebar Municipality announces the beginning of a large-scale international project aimed at improving the environmental environment and introducing innovative solutions for waste management.
The initiative, entitled "Cooperation for Intelligent Solutions for Waste Management and Pollution Reduction in Urban, Rural and Coastal Areas of the Black Sea Basin", is being implemented in partnership with leading organizations from Turkey, Greece and Georgia.
The main goal of the project is to strengthen the protection and preservation of nature and biodiversity. Efforts are focused on the development of green infrastructure and the significant reduction of all forms of pollution, with a special emphasis on coastal areas.
Key activities in the territory of Nesebar Municipality: Within the framework of the project, Nesebar Municipality will implement specific measures to improve the cleanliness of the beaches and increase public awareness:
- Modernization of infrastructure: 50 new concrete bins and 10 metal waste containers, designed to withstand the specific climatic conditions, will be placed on the "Irakli" and "Sveti Vlas - central" beaches.
- Environmental education: Specialized seminars are planned to be held in local schools, aimed at building sustainable habits in young people.
- Community initiatives: The project includes the organization of large-scale cleaning campaigns, ecological children's camps and various events to promote the culture of separate collection and waste recovery.
“Through this international exchange of experience and specific investments in infrastructure, Nesebar affirms its role as a municipality committed to the future of the Black Sea. Our goal is not only to clean up, but also to permanently change the attitude towards resources and nature,” state the project management team.
The project is part of the wider strategy of Nesebar Municipality for sustainable development and preservation of the unique natural and cultural heritage of the region. Through joint work with partners from the Black Sea basin, the best European practices for intelligent management of the urban and coastal environment will be applied.
