Nesebar Municipality gave its official support to Burgas for European Capital of Culture in 2032. At a solemn ceremony in the "Morsko Casino" Cultural Center, the mayor of Nesebar, Nikolay Dimitrov, together with the mayors of the other municipalities in the region, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The act initiated the joint efforts to present the region as a unified cultural space on the European map, and the regional governor Vladimir Krumov also attended the event.
The mayor of Nesebar, Nikolay Dimitrov, emphasized that the chance of success for Burgas's candidacy is completely real, with the key to success being good cooperation between the municipalities and the state. "I am sure that with good partnership between colleagues and with the institutions, we will succeed this time as well," the mayor was categorical.
The signing of the memorandum was approved by all Municipal Councils in Burgas Region. It is planned that Burgas's candidacy will include joint regional projects that will present the traditions but also the creative potential of the region. Its successful realization will lead to an increase in the international visibility of the region, the development of infrastructure and tourism.
