Burgas Municipality continues to plant trees along newly renovated streets and in park areas of the city, with over 500 trees planted in the last two months.
Currently, the air temperatures are high enough, allowing the teams from the "Greening" department to work intensively.
180 new trees have been planted in the Sea Garden. They are of the Atlas cedar, Himalayan cedar, and black pine species. 100 black pines have been planted in "Lake" park, and 50 in "Mineral Baths" park.
Through the "My City, My Neighborhood, My Street" project, 1400 roses have been planted in the Vetren quarter.
192 small-leaved linden trees have already been planted on Patriarch Evtimiy street. Planting continues, with another 300 trees to be planted on Levski and Gladstone streets. Greening is also planned for Angel Dimitrov street in the Sarafovo quarter.
All new trees planted along the streets are equipped with root restrictors. These prevent the warping of the paving stones on the sidewalks and the entry of roots into the foundations of buildings.
Irrigation rings and a water-retaining mesh are installed during planting, which retains water in the soil during high temperatures and drought.
The trees are whitewashed, which protects them from pests and freezing. After planting, they are sprinkled with wood chips, which has a dual function – retaining moisture in the soil and preventing the appearance of weeds.
