Burgas Municipality has started construction of a new building that will provide residential care for people with dementia and intellectual disabilities, as well as specialized support for them and their families. Mayor Dimitar Nikolov announced the news. Three important social services will be united under one roof.
The building is divided into three zones with five separate entrances to separate the flows.
Ground floor: Center for specialized support with offices, halls, reception, training kitchen, multi-purpose hall, and a day room. A zone for respite care with two rooms with two beds each and one single room.
West wing (3 floors): People with dementia (15 users). Kitchen, dining room, living room, bedrooms with bathrooms, staff rooms, terraces/outdoor space on each floor.
East wing (3 floors): People with intellectual disabilities. Analogous distribution, adapted to specific needs.
The building includes ramps, elevators, wide corridors, a photovoltaic installation on the roof, a landscaped courtyard with recreation areas, gardening, and parking.
The project “Construction and equipping of new social and integrated health and social services...“ aims to provide quality and accessible care in a home environment. Families will have access to respite care and consulting services.
