Burgas Municipality will participate in the financing of flights to Milan and Sofia, announced the mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov in a post on his "Facebook" page.
According to him, the reconstruction of Burgas Airport should be fully completed by the end of April. [web:7] Nikolov specifies that important decisions have already been made jointly with the mayors and representatives of the other municipalities, with which a special fund has been created to stimulate flights.
According to the mayor, additional financial resources will be provided specifically for flights outside the active summer tourist season. The low-cost airline "Wizz Air" will receive support for the Burgas - Milan (Malpensa Airport) route, which is planned to be operated twice a week. The national carrier "Bulgaria Air" will also be supported for the regular Burgas - Sofia route three times a week.
Nikolov adds that flights between Burgas and Sofia will start on June 5 with four flights a week. After June 30, the frequency will be increased and the line will be served every day, and from November onwards it will be operated three times a week.
