Burgas Municipality has successfully completed the project "Burgas - a green harbor of the arts", implemented within eight months.
A total of 19 cultural events and initiatives have been realized, 8 of which are new to the city's cultural calendar. The project is funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and has received the maximum number of points. The total budget reaches 1,132,288.71 euros.
Within the framework of the initiative, upgraded editions of festivals such as the International Festival of Historical Documentary Cinema DOCK, the Contemporary Art Festival "WATER" and the Physical and Visual Theater Festival "The Age of Aquarius" were realized. New events have been opened, such as the film competition "Burgas off-season", the new concept for celebrating St. Nicholas Day and the initiative "Christmas stage under the stars".
The project covered various genres - music, cinema, theater, visual arts and folklore. A Strategy for the Development of Culture of Burgas has been developed in connection with the candidacy for European Capital of Culture in 2032, as well as the creation of the "Debut" program, aimed at young artists.
With the successful implementation of the project, Burgas Municipality confirms its position as a leading cultural center and develops a sustainable cultural environment.
