Burgas Municipality is launching an open competition for a conceptual design for a modular system of urban furniture, intended for the open terraces of the “Mladost” sports hall. The initiative is part of the project “PodMladi grada” (RELAUNCHTOWIN), funded by the European Urban Initiative, and follows the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
The competition is aimed at creating a modern, functional, and sustainable environment. Flexible and adaptable solutions are sought, including seating areas, information elements, interactive functions, landscaping, shading, and energy-efficient lighting. The projects must be adapted to the climatic conditions and use ecological materials.
Designers, architects, urban planners, and visual artists can participate in the competition. The jury will evaluate the projects based on criteria such as originality, functionality, sustainability, and realism. Prize fund: 1st prize - 2200 euros, 2nd - 1000 euros, 3rd - 700 euros. Deadline for submitting project proposals: January 19 to February 20, 2026. The results will be announced by March 2, 2026.
