Representatives of various institutions discussed the problems with early marriages among adolescents and early childbirth. Experts from different institutions participated in the working meeting in the building of Burgas Municipality, including the State Agency for Child Protection, the Regional Department of Education, the Regional Health Inspectorate, the Ministry of Interior, the Children's Pedagogical Room, and municipal councilors.
During the meeting, good practices for the prevention of both problems among adolescents were discussed. Deputy Mayor for Education, Mihail Nenov, also participated.
The organizer of the initiative is the "Healthcare, Prevention and Social Activities" Directorate, Burgas Municipality, in partnership with the Public Support Center. The Public Support Center (PSC) - Burgas is a leading partner in the efforts for prevention, working actively with young mothers, prospective parents and families at risk.
The PSC team implements established practices for early prevention, including informing and consulting on topics such as sexual and reproductive health, family planning and the use of contraception, prevention of risks associated with early cohabitation, child neglect and abandonment, as well as counseling for recognizing forms of domestic violence.
