Energy Transformation of the Public Building Stock in Burgas
With funding from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, Burgas Municipality is implementing project № BG-RRP-4.020-0301 for the energy renovation of 7 administrative sites. The investment, worth over 744 thousand euros, has transformed outdated buildings into modern spaces with an energy consumption class of A.
The project aims not only to reduce energy costs but also to improve the working environment for the administration and conditions for citizens.
Key energy efficiency measures:
- Thermal insulation of external walls, roofs, and floors.
- Replacement of windows and lighting fixtures with energy-saving ones.
- Installation of photovoltaic systems for self-consumption (in selected buildings).
- Modernization of heating systems with VRF technologies and new air conditioners.
Which sites have been renovated?
The large-scale intervention covered a total area of 3,968 sq. m., including:
- Administrative Center "Vazrazhdane" (M. Rudnik residential complex).
- Administrative building of Burgas Municipality (former NARMAG).
- The town halls in Marinka, Tvarditsa, Dimchevo, Gorno Ezerovo, and Cherno More.
Through these actions, Burgas Municipality is actively implementing European climate policies, while simultaneously extending the lifespan of its building stock and optimizing public spending.
