The Municipal Council (MC) in Burgas begins its first meeting for 2026, which will be held in the meeting hall of the "Cultural House of the Petrochemical Worker". The agenda includes over 30 items, covering a wide range of topics.
Among the main highlights are proposals for setting monthly limits for revenues and expenditures under the budget for the first quarter of 2026, as well as a decision to gratuitously provide properties in the building of the Military Club to the municipality.
The councilors will review reports related to applications for European and national programs, including for increasing preparedness for disaster prevention and for the introduction of energy efficiency.
It is planned to discuss the gratuitous transfer of a reservoir to the state, the extension of the term of use of premises by the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, as well as the termination of co-ownership through the sale of ideal parts.
Amendments to the ordinances on local taxes and service prices, as well as to the regulations of municipal enterprises, will also be considered. Among the other items are the acquisition of land for a sports hall, proposals for the cultural calendar and awarding municipal honors.
Also on the agenda are issues related to changes in the tariff plan of "Burgasbus", the construction of an intelligent pedestrian crossing, the purchase of a linear accelerator for the Complex Oncology Center and a report on the activities of the public mediator.
Questions from municipal councilors regarding the condition of the building stock, infrastructure, green areas, the safety of facilities, repairs and the expenses for festive initiatives are also planned.
