A New Vision for a Landmark Spot in Burgas
The implementation of the first stage of the Burgas Municipality project to transform the recreation area around the bus stop on "Demokratsiya" Blvd. and the iconic "Gubkite" (The Mushrooms) fountain has begun. The initiative is part of the international Bauhaus4Med program, focused on sustainable urban transformations.
The project was developed based on surveys and studies among citizens and is in line with the New European Bauhaus principles of sustainability, integration, and quality of the urban environment.
What does the renovation include?
- Zone A: Reconstruction of the "Gubkite" fountain, structural reinforcement, and restoration of its original appearance.
- Zone B: Construction of a modern drinking fountain for people and pets, as well as a recreation area with an accessibility ramp.
- Zone C: Creation of a "Moorish meadow," spaces for sculptures, and stone elements featuring poetry by Burgas authors.
Construction activities are being carried out by "Patstroy VHD" EAD and are expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The goal is to create an accessible and environmentally sustainable urban environment that offers more opportunities for social interaction.
