No Pollution of Seawater After Towing of the Tanker "Kairos"

The results of the seawater tests in the Ahtopol area show no pollution after the tanker "Kairos" was towed to Burgas. The tests cover indicators for oil products, polychlorinated biphenyls, and other substances.

There is no pollution of the sea waters following the towing of the ship "Kairos" to the port of Burgas, the Ministry of Environment and Water announced.

The results of the studies of the sea waters in the Ahtopol area, made during the towing of the vessel "Kairos" to the port of Burgas, were received at the "Black Sea Region" Basin Directorate.

The tanker "Kairos" is detained by order of the "Maritime Administration".

The results do not show pollution or changes in the state of the waters.

The tests were carried out by the Regional Laboratory-Varna to the Executive Environment Agency by parameters of petroleum products, polychlorinated biphenyls, benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, styrene and fats.

The samples were taken on December 15 during the operation to tow the vessel "Kairos" to the port of Burgas.
