BURGAS – The Municipality of Burgas is on the verge of taking a significant step towards alleviating the chronic parking problem in the city's "Vazrazhdane" neighborhood. The plans foresee the construction of approximately 200 new parking spaces along "Mariya Luiza" Blvd., which would bring long-awaited relief to local residents. The news was officially confirmed by the press center of the municipal administration, which has been actively working on the project since the beginning of the year.

The development of detailed options for the distribution of parking spaces began after the Municipal Council in the seaside city approved the proposed changes to the Street Regulation Plan for the western part of the boulevard. This decision opened the door for the next, crucial phase of the project: the acquisition of the necessary plots.

According to information from the municipality, the land on which the parking spaces are to be built is currently owned by two state-owned companies: the National Railway Infrastructure Company and "BDZ Freight Services." Discussions with the first company for the transfer of the plots have already been held and appear promising.

The situation with "BDZ Freight Services" is significantly more complex. Since the company is a commercial enterprise, the law does not allow it to dispose of its assets free of charge. The only possible and legally sound way for the municipality to acquire these parcels is through a purchase-sale transaction, the administration clarified to BTA.

To speed up the process, Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov has submitted an official report to the Municipal Council. In it, he requests the review and approval of the purchase of the necessary properties. The report will be put to a vote at the upcoming Municipal Council meeting, scheduled for August 26. This decision is expected to be a key moment for the realization of the entire project.

The parking situation on "Mariya Luiza" and in the neighboring "Vazrazhdane" neighborhood has been a source of tension for residents for years, who often find it difficult to find available spaces. With the implementation of this project, the municipality hopes to meet some of their needs, offering a solution that will simultaneously improve the urban environment and ease traffic in the area.
