New 30 cars will service the siren systems in the country. The keys to the cars were presented today at a ceremony by the director of the “Communications and Information Systems” in the Ministry of Interior, Georgi Borisov, to the territorial structures of the directorate.
From today, all territorial structures of our directorate, all 28 regional cities, will have one car and equipment for it, said Philip Popov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.
The purpose of the cars is to ensure the maintenance of the national early warning and notification system, said Georgi Borisov. 25 of the cars have gasoline engines, and five are electric. Each of them has special equipment, he added.
The equipment was delivered under the project “Expanding the Scope of the Early Warning and Public Alert System at the Regional Level (NUTS 3) for the territory of the country”, financed by the program “Environment 2021-2027” of the European Union (EU). This is the result of the targeted and consistent work of the Ministry of Interior for the effective use of EU funds for the benefit of citizens' security, said Philip Popov.
The cars were blessed by Father Tsvetan Chikov, chairman of the church “St. St. Kosmas and Damian” (village Svetovrachene).
