Modernization at KOC-Burgas: New X-ray tube to be provided for the PET/CT scanner
The Municipal Council in Burgas has given its official consent for the Complex Oncological Center (KOC) in the city to purchase a new X-ray tube for its PET/CT scanner. The decision was made during the 38th session of the local parliament.
"Timely replacement is of critical importance to avoid emergency repairs and delays in patient care," commented the manager of the medical facility, Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozov.
Currently, the operational lifespan of the old tube has reached nearly 720,000 units, which necessitates a preventive replacement. The main objectives of the investment are:
- Ensuring a continuous diagnostic process;
- Maintaining high quality of diagnostic imaging;
- Preventing unplanned costs for emergency repairs.
Financial details: The new acquisition will be funded entirely with the oncological center's own resources. A public procurement procedure is planned, with the value of the asset set at up to 77,500 euros excluding VAT.
