A new intelligent pedestrian crossing will be built in Burgas. This innovative facility, which promises to improve pedestrian safety, will be located at the busy intersection of "Hristo Botev" and "Macedonia" streets, a key point in the city's transport network.

Today's regular meeting of the Municipal Council took place with a marked interest. The decision to implement the project was adopted with a clear majority – 49 votes "for". We saw how the councilors voted, as if laying the foundations for a future change in the city landscape.

The installation of a high-tech camera is planned, which will play a key role in the new system. It will detect pedestrians passing by and activate light signals, ensuring visible warnings in all weather conditions. Regardless of reduced visibility caused by fog, rain or other factors, the system will function effectively, significantly increasing safety.

The implementation of the project will be included in the investment program of Burgas Municipality for 2026. Before that, a detailed technical assignment will be prepared, as well as ensuring the necessary funding. The initiative to build this intelligent pedestrian crossing was proposed by municipal councilor Stoyko Andreev. In his arguments, he emphasizes the main goal of the project: to increase the safety of pedestrians in the city.

The system is designed to warn drivers in real time, providing them with timely information about passing pedestrians. At the same time, this modern infrastructure will contribute to giving the city a more contemporary look, highlighting its readiness to introduce innovations in the field of transport and traffic safety. It is obvious that the new project aims to improve the safety of all road users.
