The Public Transport Act provides for passenger services to be controlled by telematics, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications in the caretaker government Grozdan Karadzhov told journalists in Gabrovo. According to him, this way all delays, all signals, including from citizens about whether the vehicle is clean, whether the service is polite, will be accumulated and the amount of subsidy the state participates in the transport process itself will depend on this.
Finally, with a single electronic ticket, a complete trip will be made, the caretaker minister added. At the moment, I can honestly say that we live in conditions of transport chaos – you buy tickets for different operators that do not have internal integration of their schedules, Karadzhov added.
In November 2025, the Ministry of Transport and Communications published for public discussion a draft Public Transport Act, which creates a comprehensive legal framework for planning, managing, awarding, financing, digitizing and controlling public transport in the country. The project provides for the creation of a National Transport Scheme, which will coordinate the schedules of the different types of transport in order to minimize waiting times. The law also regulates a National Access Point – an electronic system that will provide up-to-date information on schedules, routes and transport links. The introduction of an Intelligent Public Transport Management System is also envisaged, which will integrate the National Transport Model and the National Single Transport Document System.
In Gabrovo, Grozdan Karadzhov opened a second hospital helicopter landing site, which will function at the Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment „St. Ivan Rilski“ - Gabrovo.
