New monument to the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius unveiled in Pomorie

A new marble monument to the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius was officially unveiled in Pomorie. The ceremony brought together public figures and clergy to honor the May 24 celebration.

On the Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Enlightenment and Culture, a new monument to the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius was officially unveiled in Pomorie.

Solemn consecration

The marble sculpture is located next to the church and was consecrated by Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven, together with clergy from the diocese. The monument is the work of artists Assoc. Prof. Georgi Minchev and Milcho Talev.

"May this new acquisition remind us every day that we are a people with a rich history and a bright future," stated the Mayor of Pomorie Municipality, Ivan Alexiev.

He described the unveiling as a special moment for the city and a symbol of gratitude for the work of Cyril and Methodius.

Tribute to spirituality

Wreaths and flowers were laid in front of the monument. The event was attended by local government representatives, clergy, teachers, students, and public figures in the festive atmosphere of May 24th.
