The new train schedule of “BDZ - Passenger Services” Ltd. comes into effect today, the company's press center announced. In most regions of the country, the current schedule remains in place, but convenient connections between trains are provided.
The volume of transportation will be maintained next year, with 518 trains, including express, passenger, and suburban trains.
Travel time between Sofia and Burgas/Varna via Plovdiv will be reduced, as will routes through Chirpan.
The operation of express trains Sofia - Burgas via the Sub-Balkan line and direct trains Ruse - Sofia/Plovdiv is maintained.
The possibility of a day trip to Haskovo, Kardzhali, Momchilgrad and tourist destinations is also maintained.
Eight international express trains are also planned in the new schedule.
The first new “Skoda” electric train will arrive in January 2026, and all 25 trains will be delivered by August 2026.
