Current Hydrological Situation on the Danube River
Over the past 24 hours, a stagnation in the water level of the Danube River has been recorded at the gauging stations in Ruse and Silistra, reports the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River (EAEMDR).
The hydrological situation along the river continues to be complicated, which necessitates maintaining all restrictions on the draft of vessels.
Changes at the gauging stations:
- Svishtov, Nikopol, and Oryahovo: a minimal decrease of 1-2 cm has been recorded.
- Lom: an increase of 2 cm.
- Novo Selo: an increase of 1 cm.
At present, there are no new incidents involving grounded vessels reported inside or outside the shipping lane, the River Supervision Directorate informs. The low water level of the river has also changed the landscape of the area around Lyulyaka Island near Ruse, where the dried-up branch is now being used for walks.
