Nikola Tsolov of Campos Racing achieved an impressive victory in the first main race of the 2026 season in Formula 2 at the "Albert Park" circuit in Australia. The Bulgarian driver, starting fifth, took maximum advantage of the incidents and restarts to win the race.
Tsolov overtook Nicolas Varrone on lap 22 and held the lead until the end. Behind him remained Rafael Camara (second place) and Laurens van Hoepen (third place).
The victory gave Tsolov 25 points, which put him at the top of the general classification. The next race, planned for Bahrain in April, is in question due to the tension in the Middle East.
