The Municipality of Nessebar is predictably leading among the tourist destinations in Burgas region, which in turn holds the first place in the country by the number of tourist registrations for 2025 – 2,155,696 according to current data from the National Statistical Institute. This was stated by the Mayor of Nessebar, Nikolay Dimitrov, after a meeting at the Regional Administration with the outgoing Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh, the Regional Governor Vladimir Krumov, mayors and representatives of the municipalities from the region.
The data was presented by Minister Borshosh, who presented statistics from ESTI, showing a steady growth of foreign tourists from key markets such as Germany, Israel and Turkey, as well as increased interest in the region during spring and autumn.
The Mayor of Nessebar Municipality, Nikolay Dimitrov, emphasized that the region's leading position is the result of consistent policy, effective coordination between the state and local administrations, and active dialogue with the tourism industry: “The success is for all municipalities in the region. Thanks to the good partnership with the state, we manage to upgrade the tourism product and attract new guests. Nessebar will continue to invest in quality, infrastructure and events that establish the Southern Black Sea coast as a competitive European destination.”
Nessebar Municipality continues to diversify the tourism product – cultural, festival, sports and congress tourism, combined with the established positions of seaside recreation. The rich event calendar and the opportunity to combine different experiences within a trip contribute to the sustainable interest in the region and to the extension of the season.
